Letters pertain to experiences on her voyage and travels by coach and train of cities and towns in England, France, and Italy, including detailed descriptions of sights seen; time spent with friends and acquaintances; good and bad travel and lodging experiences; social engagements; various religious services attended; the weather; and customs and styles of the places visited. Also includes a letter written by Hurd to her niece Meggie, 21 Mar. 1856, and a bound copy of modern manuscript sheet music gathered and copied by Hurd, ca. 15 May- 17 Aug. 1830.
